The programme is packed with information covering all of the festival events, which include something for everyone. Including art displays and workshops, food, music, dance, film, theatre, wine tastings, literature, children’s events, competitions, poetry and much more… As well as detailing all of the locations the evnts there is a full schedule of opening times for the Art Trail venues, which is kindly sponsored by Hart Reade Solicitors

We would like to invite you to the launch of the Hailsham Festival of Arts and Culture on August 9th at 6.00pm for 6.30pm at Chapter 12 Bar & Kitchen, 12 High St, Hailsham. The event will provide an opportunity to meet, celebrate and learn of the rich variety of events planned for this year’s Festival, which runs from 14th-24th September.
More details will follow next week but we would be delighted if you could join us for refreshments and entertainment as well as the opportunity to chat with local artists and business people, meet the festival organisers and learn more about the vibrant cultural community within the town.

The Festival committee have met to discuss last year’s events and plans for the future. In general, we were delighted with the 2016 Festival, many thanks are due to everyone who gave their support, and we have had a lot of positive feedback. Please do let us know if you have any suggestions for improvements.
We are moving the festival dates slightly for 2017, a little later in September, so the dates are
14th to 24th September 2017
As a spin off from last year’s successful annual Art Trail, we have set up a local Artist’s Network. In addition to having had enquiries about linking artists with service providers to work on art projects, other opportunities have arisen out of the art trail for artists to collaborate with local venues and businesses. Hailsham Artists Network hosted a networking lunch at Chapter 12 on Wednesday 1st Feb 2017 and drinks at 7pm for those who couldn’t make lunch time . All local artists and any individuals or organisations wishing to work with artists, are welcome to join the Network. Our next events are on Wednesday 29th March – Social Media training for artists at 10am in Eastbourne, and a tour of Geoff Pittman’s pottery studio in Hailsham in the evening followed by a get together and chat. Please contact the Network either on Facebook or via email.
