Beaters Court Studio looks forward to welcoming you to enjoy our exhibition and workshops over 16th and 17th September.  Refreshments will be available in the Garden (weather permitting) with proceeds being donated to the Brain Tumour Charity.

Valerie Evans will be exhibiting her wool art landscape and wildlife pictures.  She uses both dry and wet felting techniques to ‘paint’ these pictures which can take over 12 hours to complete.  As well as her wool painting, she will displaying handmade wool felt accessories and jewellery.  Valerie is a qualified teacher and has taught and exhibited in Sussex and abroad.  There will be a display of items that you can make at her workshops and she will be offering two workshops:  Felted Vases using wet felting techniques and a workshop learning how to sculpture with wool making a Blue Tit bird.

Elizabeth Betts will be exhibiting projects from her book ‘The Beginner’s Guide to Quilting’ and her latest quilts, wall hangings, greeting cards and accessories.   Liz is presently involved in taking the lead on the Jane Austen’s Community Quilt Story, busy designing and creating samplers as well as delivering workshops for this project.     She will be offering two workshops: English Paper Needlebook a popular project from her book plus how to design and create a Kantha Landscape.

Jim Evans will be displaying his lovely photographs of local scenes and wild life, his drift frames and relatively new interest in making bug houses and bird boxes.  Again, his ethos of using found and upcycled wood is reflected in his constructions.  Jim will also be displaying his historical images from the 70’s and 80’s when he worked as a photo – journalist in the music industry for Sounds and Record Mirror.  Photographs will include Paul Simon, the Who and many more.
