A literary event with our local writing group. The guest speaker, returning by popular demand, is Tony Penrose, writer and photographer, who has lectured worldwide about his parents, the surrealist artist Sir Roland Penrose and the renowned photographer Lee Miller. Tony will speak about his life at Farley Farm in Chiddingly and the many surrealist artists, including Picasso, who visited the farm and became part of his unusual childhood. Tony will also be bringing along his daughter, Ami, who is herself a writer. There will be other visiting writers, with book signings, craft stalls etc..
During the day between 1.00and 2.00pm the winners of The Festival Adult Short Story Competition,The Twist At The End Of The Tale, will be announced and presented with their prizes, including a perpetual memorial cup for The Best Short Story. This cup is in memory of one of the group’s original members, Pam Turner, who sadly died earlier this year. The winners will then be invited to share their stories with us.This is a free event which Hailsham Town Council has kindly sponsored, and which will be opened by The Mayor of Hailsham, Councillor Paul Holbrook
